» MLA EXPO 2023 IS almost here . I can ’ t believe it ’ s been two years since we exhibited at our first MLA Expo ( Beth you said it would come round quick !) And , what an amazing experience it was . To win the award for best product was beyond words , and without a doubt , the best moment of my very long career in locksmithing .
But what have we been up to since 2021 ?

An exciting new product addition , which we will be launching at MLAEXPO23 , the seed for this idea was sown at out demonstration evening at London region last year , following a conversation with the very knowledgeable Gary Orros , we identified the need for a retrofit MPL that would support smart locks .
RetrofitSmart is a combined Adaptalock Retrofit Keywind system coupled with a choice of Smart cylinder solutions from our trade partners at Dom UK and Touch2Access .
Dom Tapkey , providing a very high quality cylinder turn operation activated by either a smart phone or proximity tag , available with either key and reader or reader both sides .
Touch2Access providing a Motorised cylinder to create a fully automatic locking system , with hands free operation , perfect for the elderly or disabled and can be integrated into entry-phone systems .
The benefits of the RetrofitSmart solution over smart handle devices on conventional multipoint locks .

Wedding
So , where does the wedding fit into this , you may well ask ? Well , I started my career as a locksmith in the family business , and I have always viewed the industry as one big family – where we all pass business between each other , ask for each other ’ s advice , etc and we all meet up at these events . So , speaking of epic events , I would like to share a couple of photos from our eldest daughter ’ s wedding this year with our extended locksmith family …
