BBFOR1 FORD TRANSIT IGNITION REMOVAL TOOL NOW AVAILABLE AT ADVANCED KEYS
» FOLLOWING ITS DEBUT AT THE MLA Expo, Advanced Keys is now stocking the BBFOR1 – a specialist ignition barrel removal tool kit from Barrel Buster Tools; designed for Ford Transit and Transit Custom models.
Developed to tackle the common issue of worn ignition barrels jamming and becoming difficult to remove using standard methods, the BBFOR1 enables auto locksmiths to extract seized barrels quickly and efficiently with minimal disruption.
Suitable for Transit and Transit Custom models from 2013 – 2024, the kit includes
an alignment clamp tool, alignment plug, two drill bits and a spring-loaded punch tool with replacement ends. The process is designed to ensure accurate alignment and controlled drilling before the barrel is released using the supplied slide hammer punch tool.
In a nutshell, the process is about precisely aligning and drilling, and then extracting the barrel in a controlled sequence.
• Start by removing the ignition cowling and transceiver ring to expose the assembly. Insert the preload alignment plug to correctly position the internal cylinder, then fit and secure the alignment clamp to hold everything in place for accurate drilling.
• Proceed with drilling, using lubricant on both the bit and the hole. Pause periodically to clear swarf and keep the cut clean and consistent.
• Once drilling is complete, use the supplied punch tool to release and extract the barrel.
