» UNION HAS LAUNCHED STYLISH new versions of its four most popular door closers in a stunning matt black finish that fits perfectly with its levers, latches, and hinges for a complete door offering for modern interiors.
Offering a contemporary alternative to traditional silver, the new products take the trusted performance of the CE3F, CE24V, CE26V, and Retro-V and add a bold
aesthetic to meet today’ s architectural trends.
The new door closers provide greater flexibility and visual appeal while meeting the trade’ s need for readily available, easy-to-install products that meet all the industry standards required in commercial settings.
New aesthetic – trusted performance
The function of a fire door closer is critical to the fire safety of a building. Each of these closers are CE and Certifire approved for use on fire doors, in all three fixing positions. This offers suppliers and installers complete peace of mind in delivering a compliant solution.
The CE3F is a remarkably robust yet flexible rack and pinion door closer, providing incredible value for money and including a specific mounting template for each position to prevent mistakes.
The CE24V is CE-marked with an EN power size of 2-4 and is one of the easiest ways to refresh fire doors, as each door can be updated using just two tools – and then adjusted to close perfectly.
The CE26V is CE-marked with an EN power size of 2-6 and is easy to adjust, offering great flexibility to the specifier and installer. It can be used in almost all applications, including extra-wide or heavy doors, providing significant site flexibility and reducing the need to hold lots of stock.
Retro-V is the perfect door closer for retrofitting and keeping your existing door fire-safe. The easy, convenient way to replace older door closers, it uses the existing holes and positions so users can fit a new door closer in minutes without the worry of contravening the door’ s fire certification and all from one box.

Why we developed the new Yale Dual Lock
» GRANT STRATFORD, SENIOR Fenestration Technical Director – ASSA ABLOY, Residential, explains the motivation behind this innovative product.
With the Dual Lock, our goal was to redefine the expectations of fabricators and installers when it comes to modern window locking solutions. This meant providing improved functionality, greater convenience for fabricators, and a simpler offering for consumers …
Enhanced functionality
From the outset, we knew that the Dual Lock should be smart-compatible. That’ s why it is fully compatible with our smart Yale SensCheck™ Window Sensors enabling real-time monitoring through the Yale Smart Living Alarm App. Homeowners receive instant alerts if a window if left unlocked or tampered with, integrating seamlessly into Yale’ s smart home ecosystem and providing reassurance wherever they are. Adding further functionality, the bidirectional twin cam operation of the Dual
Lock increases resistance to intruders by engaging locking points in opposite directions simultaneously. This makes it significantly harder to manipulate compared to traditional single-direction systems.
More convenience for fabricators
Listening closely to fabricators’ feedback was crucial. To meet their needs, we added a durable QuadCoat finish to the Twin Cam Espagnolette of the Dual Lock. Tested to BS EN 1670 Grade 5( 480 hours) and independently verified to withstand 1,000 hours of neutral salt spray( NSS), this means the product offers exceptional corrosion resistance and longlasting performance, even in the harshest environments.
The Dual Lock also offers minimal routing preparation, reducing both installation time and complexity. The design of the gearbox was the biggest challenge in getting it ready for market. This was because we needed to achieve the required strength and durability in a smaller gearbox that is used for both bi-directional twin cam and shootbolt lock options.
A simpler offering for customers
The Dual Lock comes in a comprehensive range of options designed to cover the majority of installation needs, reducing complexity and confusion.
These options include:
• Three backsets: 20mm, 22mm, 26mm
• Three cam heights: 7.7mm, 9.0mm, 10.5mm
• Eleven standard lengths and nine low-handle-height lengths
• Croppable and extendable Shootbolt options covering sash sizes from 312mm to 1,572mm
