My plans include releasing new tools and training programs , supporting lock exhibitions nationwide , and promoting Certified Locksmiths & Security to build awareness and recognition among consumers as this is what members need from their organisation .
I had gained experience on safes with the help of numerous safe engineers I had previously worked with . Training sessions were conducted at Burton Security , covering key cutting , making keys , bench locksmithing , basic skills in picking safe locks , servicing safes , and converting locks to electronic ones . Support was also provided to customers who sell safes and perform subcontract work .
Opening a Failed Vault Lock in Ghana
A significant achievement of mine occurred in September 2024 when I was asked to open a failed vault lock in Ghana . The vault had a glass covering protecting the lock and the mechanism , I had to smash the glass , but the hardest part was the lack of tools because I was only allowed to travel with two 20kg toolboxes , however I managed to successfully gain access , re-pin the locks and put it all back together . I missed being able to pop-out to my van for an additional tool , it was difficult to work with minimal tools .
Plans for 2025
I will continue to work full-time as an engineering and installation manager at Burton Safes , while dedicating weekends and spare time to Eight Ball Engineering because there ’ s a need for industry support for picking locks and safes .
Eight Ball Engineering will continue to develop its range of lock picking tools and will schedule new training dates soon ! We ’ re working on brand awareness and an online knowledge base and other value-added options for locksmith members of Certified Locksmiths & Security , watch this space !

More information Eight Ball Engineering ’ s locksmith training courses are designed to provide locksmiths with the necessary confidence . Each course is structured to impart the knowledge required to effectively pick most of the mortice locks available in the UK today . Years of accumulated expertise , combined with the Ultra Pick tool , ensure participants leave the session proficient in lock picking skills . In addition to their wellregarded Mortice Lock Picking Course , they will be introducing additional courses for different lock types in the future .

New members are referred by their peers as a unique way of ensuring members are capable and decent , also reflecting the way this industry worked historically , being invited-in ensures skills are maintained and protected .
Certified Locksmiths & Security aims to support local locksmiths with their online listing that has been continuously improving its position . Other locksmiths who are employed or part of a national organisation can also benefit from being a licenced member and access technical support via the knowledge base .
