Bob ’ s thoughts and Josh ’ s ‘ wasted ’ life …
» THIS MONTH , WE FEATURE TWO EXCITING individuals in the world of locksmithing , both from different walks of life . Robert Carney of Arc Locksmiths in Manchester is proud to have been in business 35 years , joining the trade since leaving school and he ’ s never looked back , not even after he was held at gunpoint on a job ! It ’ s enough to scare anyone off , but the love of locksmithing really runs deep . Bob ’ s advice to new locksmiths is to learn about growth areas such as access control ( electronic devices ) and auto locksmithing , where there ’ s good money to be made and it ’ s where we ’ re heading in the future . Check out Bob ’ s thoughts on market trends and his marketing advice , things have changed so much since 1988 – when all you had to think about was how to get to the top of the listings in the Yellow pages .
Then there ’ s Josh De Asha of Open Key Locksmiths , Liverpool , who felt like he was ‘ wasting his life ’ ( literally ) picking up environmental waste ( fly tipping ) before he crossed paths with a locksmith and found the trade . Josh loves locksmithing and being his own boss , where no two days are the same , and he finds it satisfying helping people who are locked outside their homes . Read about his top tips on ‘ keeping things simple ’ in locksmithing and the best locksmithing job he ever did ; breaking into a bank … a feature not to be missed …
I can ’ t believe that it ’ s the end of November already , and Christmas is upon us . I wonder how many locksmiths will be working over the festive period ?
