INCOME TAX FOR NON RESIDENTS FOR YEAR 2015
The 31st December 2016 is the deadline to file your non resident tax for the year 2015 . This is mandatory for all non residents who have income in Spain , including property owners . If you are required to submit such statements please call into our offices at Centro Comercial Benavista and we will be delighted to help you prepare them .
New this year : for residents in the European Union , Iceland and Norway the tax rate has been lowered to 19.50 %. For all other countries it is 24 % ( the rate in 2014 was 24.75 %)
TAX FOR NON RESIDENTS WITH RENTAL PROPERTY
Can we remind you that owners of rental properties are obliged to declare this income to the tax authorities . Depending on whether these are long or short term rentals , they are declared in different ways , however everyone with a rental property should consult a tax advisor and must declare this income .
From the 1st January 2015 , an important clause allows taxpayers who are resident in another member state of the European Union , Iceland or Norway , to deduct some of the costs of the rental property such as IBI , community fees , rubbish collection etc .
