Have you ever been close to death?
The book Alive written by Piers Paul Read talks about how a rugby team
was traveling to Santiago de Chile with their relatives; while they were
flying the plane crashed into La Cordillera de los Andes. The forty five
passengers of this flight had to survive for seventy two days trapped into
the wild, in these seventy two days they went through the feelings of
hunger, desperation, and sometimes the most important thing of all: loss of
hope. In this book we can see how people can live together and help each
other in this tough situation, they did had discussions and problems
between each other , but at the end they never stopped walking forward,
looking for an exit from the frozen hell.
I believe the most important thing when you are in a sort of situation like
this, is to never lose the hope and the faith of getting out of it because once
you lose it, you will be closer to death than before, when you are alive you
must fight for keeping it that way, and bear down anything that gets in the
way, because if you don’t do so, then everything you did in your life will be
worthless if you just give up, in the book they never did all the time they
showed how brave they were , and at the end, they succeed, everything
they fought for was worth it, because they were reunited with their family
and friends, even those who died and I am sure that at the end they were
proud of themselves because even at their last breath they were fighting for
surviving, for living a little longer.
