FIRST! If He's got to knock then He's not even on the inside. Now I don't know about you, but if you put ME out, I'm more apt to say, "Your LOST!!" and be out. But not the LOVE of Christ. He stands there AND He knocks (Rev. 3:20) .
SECOND! He's not even going to trip and have an attitude if /when we change our minds. He says if you let Me in, I won't disrupt the FOOLISHNESS going in the church but I will eat with YOU! His LOVE will allow Him to ignore how we've been having /doing church without HIM and eat or commune with us on an individual and private level.
THIRD! He's not going to stop at just treating you like a brother/sister or friend, He promises to give this person the right to sit with HIM on His throne! Christ sharing His REIGNING position?? That's some love. We can't give up being an department head so that someone else can get a chance to lead without being offended. LOL
This just goes to show how far off we are when it comes to loving one another and actually loving ourselves the way God expects us to love ourselves. You'll have to listen to my February devotionals to gain some very important insights and assessments of Biblical love. But it goes to show, Christ held and still is NOT holding anything back for the sheep that He loves.
There is no sin, no situation or season in our life that can make Him turn His back on us. He is always calling out to us. The Amplified version of II Peter 3:9 says it like this:
The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
His sheep are loved so much that He:
1) Came and died for
THEIR sins Roman 5:8
2) Took away the penalty of sin, death and the grave! I Corinthians 15:55
3) Gave the Body of Christ, Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers to equip you to do the work of minis Ephesians 4:11-12
4) Made it possible to spend eternity with Him by being resurrected
I Corinthians 15:12-14
5)Gave us His Holy Spirit as His down payment for the Inheritance He will pay in full
Ephesians 1:13-14
Let us pray:
Dear God,
Your love is insurmountable and incomprehensible therefore all we can do is say THANK YOU! Thank you for loving us as sinners. Thank you for loving us through our sanctification process. Thank you for loving us when we are no longer loving You and thank You for never giving up on us. I pray that hearts not be hardened but will open up to you now. I pray that men and women will invite You in today. Touch Holy Spirit and make us fit for our King. In Jesus' name we pray! AMEN
and in Your precious will. In Jesus' name we pray. AMEN!
