Interested in finding out more about the benefits of attending a class with your newborn or toddler ? Lynette van Wyk from Toddlers ’ Workshop is passionate about offering a structured and stimulating environment for moms to enjoy bonding with their little ones . She chatted to us about what her classes have to offer .
Lynette has been running Toddlers ’ Workshop classes from her home in Summerstrand since 1992 . The programme offers moms a place to gain valuable parenting tools and tips as well as to connect with other moms with young children of the same age . Lynette says , “ It is my passion and gives me reason to get up in the morning . I am there to facilitate play and development , but also to listen to all the moms ’ queries and concerns . It is so fulfilling to be able to join them in their parenting journey and such a privilege .”
When she first started , Lynette completed a two year diploma in Family and Child Development and has since also qualified as a BabyGym instructor , an Evergreen Parenting facilitator as well as a Tall Trees Leadership facilitator . To further equip herself she also completed a beginner ’ s as well as an advanced course in Play Therapy .

What you can expect :
Toddlers ’ Workshop offers classes for babies from three months up to toddlers of four years old . Sensory integration is a high priority and creative activities are aimed more at the experience of being in the moment than trying to create a perfect picture . It is importnt that each child is allowed to develop at his own pace and according to his own temperament .
Toddlers can enjoy a spacious garden setting with age appropriate equipment , a vibrant music programme and lots of sensory motor and gross motor activities designed to enhance the early childhood experience .
Toddlers ’ Workshop also offers classes for pregnant couples , family evenings , and workshops for parents , as well as a wellequipped library for moms and dads .
