extensively studied sunspots and coronal
masses, having famously photographed
the longest coronal extension at that time,
reaching 10km into space.

Dublin-born physicist George Francis Fitzgerald
laid the foundations for Einstein’s special theory
of relativity. The Fitzgerald crater on the far side
of the Moon is named after him.
