BLOCKED

By Chet Dixon

When ink dries up and pens grow silent

Neither have gone to sleep.

Sometimes a pen has nothing to do

When creation is stirring deep.

Developing words may grow like mosaics

Slowly building its foundation blocks,

Starting with stones strong and clear

Like sounds of Townhall Clocks.

The creation wait may not be long

Or it may keep one waiting and fearing

While it mixes events, thoughts and space

Before the ink starts reappearing.

As I bravely wait I’ll consider a truth

That I can never change.

I know that creation’s mysterious nature

May have chosen to rearrange…

Everything.
