weeks in a row that they stopped doing every day activities: Twenty-seven percent of eighth graders, 35 percent of tenth graders, and 34 percent of twelfth graders reported experiencing depressive feelings over the past year (North Kitsap Herald, 2015). In all of Washington states adolescents from age 12-17 about 57,000 had experienced at least one major depressive episode per year in 2009-2013 (The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 2014) As shown below, depression among teens is continuing to increase.
