Welcome to the Winter
edition of The Link.
December is of course the
month in which we
celebrate Christmas, a
time of fun and
excitement for most of us,
as we look forward to
Christmas Day and all that
goes with it. For some
though, this is also the loneliest time of the year. So
please take a moment to spare a thought for those
less fortunate than yourselves, especially those
elderly people who, for various reasons will spend
Christmas alone. There are many things we can do
to help: if you know of someone who will be alone,
invite them to spend Christmas Day with you. If this
is not practical, then how about making up a few
small goody bags with chocolates, biscuits, mince
pies, etc., and take them along to your nearest Age
UK centre – they will know who to give them to.

Also spare a thought for the various animal shelters
in your area, which are always inundated with stray
and unwanted animals at this time of year.
Donations of food, blankets or cash will make it
possible for them to help more animals in need.
