ello to you, the local

Caterham and surrounding areas . . .
As you may have heard in the news,
The Douglas Brunton Centre is
undergoing transition from Tandridge
ownership to the hands of a charity,
comprised of local community
members who are taking action to
prevent the closure of the site.
Since 1985, the Douglas Brunton
Centre provided services for the
55+ residents of Caterham and
surrounding areas. Our aim is to
preserve those who currently use
the centre while revitalising the
services and activities offered, with
a renewed focus on wellbeing,
social isolation, and including all
sectors of the local community.
• New activities such as fitness
classes, dance groups, yoga, and
arts/crafts afternoons
• Youth and child programs
• Large and small meeting rooms
for hire
• Healthy food options
• All-day cafe
• Hairdressers, barbers, manicurists,
and beauty therapists
activities, whilst also recognising
the needs of the community
currently using the site. We will
therefore provide services which
are directed at the needs of other
groups who are isolated in the locality.
In the weeks to come, we’ll be hosting
a number of Taster Days and Sunday
Lunches, where you can meet us, the
trustees, and the current members
and volunteers as we prepare for this
transition and new centre opening.
