LET’S MAKE EVERYTHING PURPLE!
T
he South East Cancer Help Centre (SECHC)
is calling on local shops, businesses, schools,
organisations and residents to hold purple-
themed fundraising events or activities and share
their efforts on social media as part of its SECHC
Awareness Month.
The charity has several fundraising events planned
throughout October which you can either volunteer
at or get a group of friends to come along to:
Every Friday and Saturday in October SECHC will
be collecting in Tesco Purley
Friday 11th October Rocking With Rod -
Sponsored by Power Bespoke
hoping to see everyone wear a splash of purple during
the month and I am hoping to meet as many people
as possible at the events being held.”
We are delighted to have received sponsorship this
year from Power Bespoke - property negotiators and
Sunrise Senior Living. As ever we are indebted to
Tesco Purley who are allowing us to collect every
weekend in October in their main foyer.

Our fundraising team will help you run your own
events such as having a dress down day at work or a
cake sale whilst all the local schools are once again
being invited to take part in purple mufti days!
SECHC Fundraiser Natalie Mulcahy said “Get as
many of your friends and family as possible to come
along to one of our events and help fundraise whilst
enjoying a night out!"
As in previous years SECHC is looking for knitters to
help yarn bomb the trees and benches around Purley
giving them cosy purple coats and brightening the
whole area up.
SECHC Chairman, Jennifer Mollett said “Last year it
was great to see people smiling at the yarn bombing
and hear school children explaining to their parents
why SECHC had turned the trees purple. As we
receive no government funding events like this are
our life blood and it is a great way for local people to
support their local charity whilst having fun. We are
