LET’S MAKE EVERYTHING PURPLE! T he South East Cancer Help Centre (SECHC) is calling on local shops, businesses, schools, organisations and residents to hold purple- themed fundraising events or activities and share their efforts on social media as part of its SECHC Awareness Month. The charity has several fundraising events planned throughout October which you can either volunteer at or get a group of friends to come along to: Every Friday and Saturday in October SECHC will be collecting in Tesco Purley Friday 11th October Rocking With Rod - Sponsored by Power Bespoke hoping to see everyone wear a splash of purple during the month and I am hoping to meet as many people as possible at the events being held.” We are delighted to have received sponsorship this year from Power Bespoke - property negotiators and Sunrise Senior Living. As ever we are indebted to Tesco Purley who are allowing us to collect every weekend in October in their main foyer. SECHC Fundraiser Natalie Mulcahy said “Get as many of your friends and family as possible to come along to one of our events and help fundraise whilst enjoying a night out!" As in previous years SECHC is looking for knitters to help yarn bomb the trees and benches around Purley giving them cosy purple coats and brightening the whole area up. SECHC Chairman, Jennifer Mollett said “Last year it was great to see people smiling at the yarn bombing and hear school children explaining to their parents why SECHC had turned the trees purple. As we receive no government funding events like this are our life blood and it is a great way for local people to support their local charity whilst having fun.
