DDL's Battle of the Books program is designed to encourage a love of reading and to promote an interest in different genres. It also provides an opportunity for students to work as a team.

Students in 4th and 5th grade form teams with adult coaches. Over the course of approximately four months, the teams read a selection of six books chosen by the DeWitt District Library. In March, the teams come together for a “battle."
