What are journals?

Publications consisting of a number of articles or features, published at regular intervals.

Because they are published frequently,

they contain the latest up to date

research.

If you know which journal you want,

you can find the online version via the

library catalogue (use Journal Title).

If you want to search by topic, then you can use one of the research databases or Library Article search on the library catalogue to look at several collections at once.

What are research databases?

Research databases contain detailed records of articles, book references and conference proceedings.

A record can include title, authors, abstract (a brief summary), keywords (to enable your search to find it) and more.

Because a database contains records of materials,

not everything you find will be full text.

(Full text is where you can get the whole article

immediately, usually in PDF format)

Where full text is available, you can log in

to access.
