Legalizing Marijuana?
What do the people think?
In this survey a group of AUC students were asked on their opinions regarding marijuana. When asked whether it should be legalized, the results were very polarized with some strongly the idea whilst others are completely against. The majority, however, believed that it shouldn’t be legal.
This notion that Egyptian culture is strictly against drug use is supported by the other findings. The consensus was that its use could potentially affect productivity negatively, thus believing that it has an impact on people’s lives despite the fact that there have been research papers conducted linking the use of cannabis to enhance productivity.
Another question that received a variety of answers was whether its legalization encourages more kids to use it. The answers ranged due to the fact that many think that the kids that would use marijuana wouldn’t care if it were illegal or not. In fact, it being illegal could make it more attractive for rebellious teens so they “don’t abide by the rules”. The majority, however, also made a valid argument that its legalization would cause it to be more accessible thus leading up to increased sales.
