THE
UNRECOGNISED
SCHOOL
By: Oluwasunkanmi Oso
T
he school is an abode for learning. However, this school
is an exemption. Students expectedly patronise this
school, even the lecturers are not left out.
This institution tests your patience. They do not meet
your demands for basic needs and services, leaving
your thirst unquenched. In the process, some decide to make
it through the back door. Those unaware of the back door are
locked out and allowed in when certified. The money bags flaunt their wealth. They are
assigned special room for ease. Thus, making
the blood of regret flow through the poor
customers’ mind for not coming to institution
as a rich kid.
Many come in as accomplices. As a result of this the hall is
jampacked. Sullen faces; stamping feet; scratching sound of
pens; impatient people. Meanwhile, some workers in this school are
lackadaisical to their job. They shy away from
their duties, with nature call as an excuse.
While client took turn to throw shot at the
administration or the workers themselves for
their nonchalant attitude.
Everyone is human. In some instances, we find ourselves in
situation we do not like, impatience crescendos into harsh
words, not minding these are people’s loved ones who took the
responsibility of being a worker and the signee in this institution.
Our attendances determine their success, with many on the
queue trying to take part in the day’s transaction. Hence, many
as an accomplice to others put men in uniform on their toes to
make things go smoothly.
Some lurk around without taking part in day’s business. They
have access to their satisfaction right at the institution’s gate. But
they still have to wait for their turn.
Whereas some are punished for the failing network of institution’s
service and some, their exchange seized even with their mode
of transaction denied when they failed to meet up with the pre-
requisite of the institution.
Status is highly recognised. With some student given special
treatment such as: tea, chilled water and some spoon fed as a
newbie to the institution without the faintest idea of how things
are done.
Unserious are some who come there borrowing pen from every
Tom, Dick and Harry and failing to give back the borrowed pen—
replica of farmer who goes to the farm without his hoe or cutlass.

Likewise, some are left to sign and sign on their
teller due to flimsy error caused by misspelling
of words or wrong entries of numbers.
While some are sent back home because
of loss of document which the Organisation
will not accept as their error but turning their
customers to a plastic bag toss around at will
by the wind.
Hence this unrecognised school that favours
patience at it best or you die hypertensive
fighting for your right. Alas, the need to
remember that you were not called but you
walked your leg down there to be schooled.
The unrecognised school where ATM, Teller
and Money is the instrument for learning and
patience as the sole survivor just like our
everyday University system.
