The Lebanon Lantern The Lebanon Lantern Spring 2019 | Page 2
Hello Lebanon!
And good-bye Winter! Spring begins Wednesday, March 20! It has certainly been an
interesting Winter. We have had plenty of cold and plenty of rain, but fortunately, very
seldom at the same time! I am looking forward to the warmer weather and walking around
town and seeing friends and neighbors doing the same. Soon we will be lining Main St.
for the 4 th of July Parade and sweating! Kudos to the 4 th of July Committee. I recently
attended one of their planning meetings, and it is an enormous project to put on the parade
every year and requires many, many volunteers. I encourage everyone to help out if you
can. They can be contacted at info@lebanonboro4thofjulyparade.com, and all volunteers
receive a limited edition t-shirt! I was also at the first meeting of the year for the
Recreation Committee, another one of our great volunteer groups in town and always
looking for additional hands. If interested, please contact Lisa Saharic in Town Hall at 236-2425.
The council and I are hard at work on the budget. We will do our best to keep costs in check and to be completely
transparent. Please remember that only about 19% of your tax bill comes to the town, and the remainder is sent to
other entities - the schools and the county. I welcome your thoughts, suggestions and opinions, and welcome you
to attend our monthly council meeting held the 3 rd Wednesday of the month in Town Hall at 7:30 PM. In addition,
I will be hosting our first “Coffee with the Mayor” on Saturday April 6 in Town Hall at 9 AM for a less formal
setting. And I am always available at the contact information below.
Looking forward to seeing everyone around town as the weather continues to warm!
