A variety of community festivals attract individuals of all ages to the west lakes area .
Trista Days
Trista Days is put on each May by the city of Minnetrista to highlight public safety . Kids have the opportunity to meet law enforcement officers , see demonstrations and more .
Spirit of the Lakes
The Spirit of the Lakes Festival in Mound brings live music , a parade , fireworks and much more . Held at Surfside park in mid-July , the traditional festival truly offers something for everyone .
Buckhorn Days Long Lake ’ s newest , revamped festival comes to town each year in July for a weekend of food , fun and live entertainment .
Dog Days
The pets take over for Westonka Community and Commerce ’ s Dog Days event , held in mid-August at the Surfside Park in Mound .
Incredible Festival
Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church celebrates with the Incredible Festival in Mound in early September . Event highlights include carnival rides , a silent auction , live music and more .
Corn Days This festival at the Church of St . George in Long Lake features fun for the whole family : live music , a beer tent , food booths , children ’ s inflatables , a petting zoo , a wine pull , bingo , a Silent Auction , SuperRaffle , a Fiesta dinner , a car rally , and the sweetest roasted corn and Mexican corn !
Tree Lightings
Long Lake , Orono and Mound all have winter tree lighting ceremonies to mark the winter holidays . The cities of Long Lake and Orono host their ceremonies in early December . Westonka Community and Commerce hosts Mound ’ s ceremony in late November .
