The people who live here are the true treasure of the west lakes area , keeping communities together and preserving the beauty of this area for future generations .
Be it on Lake Minnetonka , Long Lake or Lake Independence , there are hosts of people who are working to promote welfare of area lakes . They ’ ve done so by combating existing threats , chief among them invasive species like zebra mussels and carp , as well as prevent any possible new threats .
