Long Lake keeps it fun year-round
With shaded , picturesque residential neighborhoods , an ever-growing and improving downtown business district , and the lake for which the city is named for , Long Lake has something to offer everyone from residents to visitors .
Numerous businesses adorn the length of Wayzata Boulevard , the main street through the city , which received a major face lift in 2017 . Among the new upgrades to the area is a walking and biking path along the shoreline of Long Lake , which meets up with the popular Luce Line Trail .
The city offers its nearly 1,700 residents and scores of visitors plenty of entertainment throughout the year in the form of family-fun and welcoming festivals . In recent years , the city brought back and revamped the popular Buckhorn Days festival , with plans to continue the family-friendly event every mid-July . During the colder months , Long Lake offers a bit of winter fun at the Winterfest in early February .

The Long Lake City Council meets at 6:30 p . m . at city hall , located at 450 Virginia Ave ., on the first and third Tuesday of each month .
Elections for city council seats are held every two years .
