people and technology is
the key to law firm success

For the first issue of the year we asked law firm leaders
across Latin America to describe the challenges ahead in
2018 and their strategies for overcoming them.
A pattern emerged (as we report on page 10): the
race to attract and retain talent continues, now with an
additional focus on adopting technologies to increase
efficiency. On a positive note, clients need as much help
as ever in navigating increasingly complex political
and economic landscapes. All in all, an agenda not so
dissimilar perhaps to their counterparts’ in the rest of the
world.
And for our Roundup on page 20, we are celebrating
InspiraLAw. An initiative by our sister publication Iberian
Lawyer, the project recognizes the women lawyers
serving as an inspiration to the younger generation. We
hope this initiative will expand into Latin America in the
near future.
