The students plan, write, proofread and publish the novel entirely on their own. The novels are professionally published, with an official book launch, and are available to buy on Amazon. The Keele Centre for Ageing Research (KCAR) is a university-wide, cross-faculty research centre drawing together researchers investigating ageing, various age groups, generations and intergenerational relations, and the life course from a variety of disciplines and perspectives. Dr Skipper recently secured additional funding from Higher Horizons+ to allow more groups of young people to participate in the project – which is based on psychological research and has a demonstrable positive impact on participants’ literacy and motivation. KCAR has a large number of academic members from across the University, including its Director Dr Dana Rosenfeld. KCAR supports inter-disciplinary ageing research, conducted ethically and in partnership with affected groups and local, national, and international agencies; fosters opportunities for, supports, and enhances national and international ageing-related research collaboration and innovation, and produces excellent research that reflects the diversity, complexity, and richness of ageing as a life-long process, informs policy and practice, empowers members of all age groups, and benefits personal, family, and community life.
