Faculty Join King’s
T
he King’s University added two new faculty members
this September, DR. JULIE KAYE, Assistant Professor
of Sociology and Director of Community Engaged
Research, and DR. AMY FEAVER, Assistant Professor
of Computing Science and Mathematics.
DR. KAYE has filled the role of Director of Community
Engaged Research, recently created at King’s. This position
helps students – mostly in social science – conduct
community research projects for local agencies. “King’s
already has an environment that values exceptional
educational opportunities rooted in the goals of critically
reimagining and engaging communities grappling with
social injustice. This is the type of environment where
community-engaged approaches to research can grow
and flourish,” says Dr. Kaye.
Dr. Julie Kaye
She has extensive experience, completing her own
community engaged research examining human trafficking
in Canada. Dr. Kaye holds a PhD in Philosophy from
the University of Saskatchewan and recently worked at
Ambrose University College.
Dr. Feaver joins The King’s University from the University
of Colorado Boulder where she completed her PhD in
Mathematics. She is a recipient of the Burton W. Jones
Teaching Award from the University of Colorado. Her
research focuses on algebraic number theory and she
recently participated in “Women in Numbers 3”, a workshop
held at the Banff Inter
