ALUMNI NEWS & NOTES News & Notes A L U M N I IN MEMORIAM JONATHAN CHRISTOPHER EDWARD LANGILLE 1994-2014 The King’s University College community was saddened to learn of the death of student Jonathan Christopher Langille. He was working towards a degree in Psychology and a minor in Drama with the goal of attaining his masters. Jonathan was an accomplished actor who loved the arts and his love for music was only surpassed by his love for his family and dear friends. Thoughts and prayers go out to Jonathan’s family and friends. JANICE ROBOCON (BA, ’03) graduated with a PhD from Brunel University in London, UK on July 4, 2013. Janice’s thesis was titled: The desire for home: An auto ethnographic exploration of faith and desire. BRYCE VOOGD (BA, ’08) completed his Masters of Arts in Theology from Regent College in April 2013. PROFESSIONAL FLORENE YPMA (BA, ’00) on finished her Masters of Arts in Professional Communication at Royal Roads. The proud King’s Alumna was a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council winner during her graduate studies and currently works at Athabasca University in course development. DANIELLE BROUSSEAU (BA, ’04) is working on her PhD in Counselling Psychology at McGill. She and husband, Fred Tappenden, recently welcomed Olivia this spring. KARIN VOOGD (NEE SEDERBERG) (BA, ’11) began her Masters of Education in Home Economics through the University of British Columbia in September 2013. 22 /// The King’s Connection /// Summer 2014 ALICIA SINCLAIR (’07) works for the Mortgage Centre and Cedar Chiropractic in Bonnyville, AB. She is also president of the Bonnyville Singers and secretary for the PC Association Bonnyville/ Cold Lake. KATHERINE FRANKE (NEE CARLETON) (BA, ’13) was admitted into the M.Sc. Occupational Therapy program at the University of Alberta. HILARY SMITH (BA, ’09) recently accepted a position in the fall of 2013 at Trinity CRC in Edmonton as the Youth Director. DENNIS (B.Sc., ’02) and JOCELYN PERRIN (NEE VEENSTRA) (BA, ’02; BEd, ’04) welcomed Thea to the family in April, 2014. The Perrin family is now up to five with older brother Jesse and sister Amelie. JESSICA WIJNGAARDEN (B.Sc., ’10) graduated with her M.Sc. in Infection and Immunity from the University of Utrecht in Holland. FAMILY ANN UNLAND (BA, ’02; BEd, ’04) and James Lehman welcomed Torin James Lehman on April 15, 2013.
