We were fortunate to take 50 Year 9 students to London to the
Live BBC Comedy Lesson. After a 6AM start, we arrived at the
BBC studios in the centre of London. Presented by Sara Cox
and London Hughes, our students learnt about the techniques
comedy writers use and how they can write their own pieces
of comedy. With special guests; Isy Suttie, Gemma Whelan,
Tiernan Douieb, and Johnny and Inel students watched the
professionals at work and were part of the live studio audience.
This performance was streamed to secondary schools across
the country.
Once the performance was finished, we went to see the sights
of London, stopping for lunch in Leicester Square and walking
through the city to visit Buckingham Palace, ending the day with
a visit to the Natural History Museum. A great day was had by all!
