Year 5 and 6 Primary Sports Hall Athletics
On the afternoon of Wednesday 16th November , the Year 12 sports leaders hosted the Year 5 and 6 Primary School Indoor Athletics Competition . As part of completing our sports leadership enrichment , we conducted a feeder schools competition along with help from fellow Year 12 ’ s . Each leader took the responsibility of leading a field event which included :
Standing long jump Standing triple jump Javelin Chest push Vertical jump Speed bounce
After the field events , the schools competed in a variety of running races . Over 80 students attended from local primary schools with some fantastic performances from all the students . We look forward to these students hopefully representing The Kimberley School in years to come .
After some closely fought field events , Mornington excelled in the running events to become the overall winners , with Hollywell in 2nd and Larkfields taking 3rd place . The top two teams now go on to the next stage in the competition .
It was an enjoyable experience for all and allowed us to develop a variety of leadership skills and confidence in running sports events .
We wish Hollywell and Mornington good luck in the next round .
