Meet Benny
A
s far back
as I can remember, I have
always been a giving and
compassionate person. At
least that is what I thought
until I met Benny.
Magazine is sold, we will
give It Girl Foundation a
percentage of the proceeds
to help ten emerging
women entrepreneurs in the
Philippines get the help and
skills they need to support
themselves
and
their
families.
You see, about four years
ago, this beautiful, loving,
loyal, and adorable living
being came into my life, and
my life changed forever.
In order to affect, we have to
be the change.
With his love, affection
and unwavering ability to
put a smile on my face no
matter what I had been
experiencing, he touched
a part of me deep within
my core that I never knew
existed.
There is a very powerful
quote by the Dalai Lama XIV
that goes like this:
“We can reject everything else:
religion, ideology, all received
wisdom. But we cannot escape
the necessity of love and
compassion....
I started to notice this as I
felt a heightened level of
compassion, which became
more and more evident
in my daily life; so much
that it was the very thing
that inspired me to create
a brand built on cause
marketing.
This, then, is my true religion,
my simple faith. In this
sense, there is no need for
temple or church, for mosque
or synagogue, no need for
complicated
philosophy,
doctrine or dogma. Our own
heart, our own mind, is the
temple.
I am committed to involving
compassion in everything I
do!
The doctrine is compassion.
With the creation and launch of the Kharisma Magazine, I knew
compassion had to be a part of it. So I reached out to Jessica
Nazarali of It Girl Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation,
and shared my wish.
We formed a partnership: every time an issue of the Kharisma
