Leadership Academy is an annual 6-day event in which Circle K members learn the most valuable life lessons and skills. During this time period, members learn that true leadership is based on servant leadership, a concept in which the best leaders are those who put the needs of others before theirs. Another valuable lesson learned from this experience is that titles and positions of power don't define everything. All people, regardless of rank, have the potential to become great leaders in their own right. Another important aspect of this program is service. There is always a need for service and helping others around the world.
This year, 3 Circle K'ers from our very own Pennsylvania District attended this once in a lifetime event in Morgantown, Indiana. For 6 days, attendees had no internet or phone service. This was done in order to encourage human interaction so that members could develop strong social and communication skills while learning how to become better leaders. Many attendees have described this event as life changing.
