started to push himself through. The last few seconds went by so fast that I can’t react fast enough. Yeong’s shirt got caught on the wire and electrified him. His eyes started to droop and lose conscious. “Yeong please don’t leave me!” I scream. I reach to touch his face, but I know it’s not a good idea. I slowly see a car approach me. The door opened and I see a figure running towards me. “Hye, it’s me Areum!” She screams. I look at her; my face showing so much pain that it hurt. I almost dropped the baby. “NOOO, Yeong please get up!” I screamed feeling useless. “Hye come on, I can see the soldiers coming. Just leave him there; you have come so far! Please come on” she dragged me to the car. I can see the soldiers getting closer and closer to Yeong, and they shoot him in the head. I cried and cried until I had nothing left to cry with. I felt so dehydrated and light headed; I could pass out. My sister was there to comfort me and reassure everything is going to be okay. We reached a medium size house with lots of pretty flowers. “You should get some rest in the guest room. I will take care of the baby,” my sister offered. She guided me to the room. “Areum, can I tell you something?” I asked quietly. “Sure, I’m here for you!” she said with a small smile. “If I have not decided to go; Yeong would have been alive. Everything could have been prevented. Now it’s my fault and I have to carry the burden until the day I die.” I whispered. “You did the right thing. You would have starved to death if you didn’t come. The baby you saved would probably would have died out there. Don’t blame it on yourself. It’s not your fault! Now you should rest. Tomorrow we are going to a place for food shopping,” I nodded feeling the need to be alone. I cried myself to sleep that night. I would get my revenge one way or another. They ruined my life now I’m going to ruin theirs! The soldier with the scar face and crooked teeth that shot Yeong. *three months later*
