It is now widely accepted, amongst the
wider healthcare profession, that the socalled ‘Digital Revolution of Healthcare’
is, and will continue to be, an essential
mechanism, necessary to help overcome
some of the many challenges facing
modern medical provision.
Every democratic society has to address
practical questions about the availability
and distribution of medical services. Life
expectancy is projected to increase from
an estimated global average of 72.6 years
in 2012 to 73.7 years by 2017, bringing
the number of people over age 65 to
around 560 million worldwide, or more
than 10 percent of the population. In
