Welcome
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all our readers
who have subscribed to the new Journal of mHealth. We hope that
you find this and subsequent editions engaging and informative.
Our aim with the Journal has been to provide a publication that
bridges the different areas of the mHealth industry in order to provide an authoritative source of information for all parts of healthcare community. Through the Journal we will be looking to provide industry insight into the ways in which mHealth is being used,
developed and implemented across all the possible technical use
cases.
In practise this means the Journal will include academic research,
industry studies, reports and clinical trial data, as well as news
and updates from the global Digital Health industry. We will also
feature regular company and organisation profiles looking at the
work that different businesses and organisations are doing around
the world to develop and implement mHealth services.
Having consulted extensively with participants from across the industry it is hoped that the Journal will become a trusted resource
for anyone with an interest in mobile medical applications, devices, and services.
In this our inaugural edition we set out to understand some of the
issues affecting the current global mhealth landscape, with reports
and articles covering projects from around the world. Our feature
article considers the Global perspectives of the mHealth market.
We have reports from the Health and Development Foundation of
Russia, the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) Briefing on Mobile Health, and an analysis of the FDA Guidance on Mobile Medical Apps. We also have sections that will make a regular appearance in each edition, including industry news, company profiles,
and events news.
Finally, let me take this opportunity to thank everyone who has
been involved with helping us launch The Journal of mHealth, and
for all the contributions and submissions made to date. Without
you all, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
Thank you for subscribing and we hope you enjoy reading!
