We have always lived in a male dominant society . Since prehistoric times men were considered more courageous and braver and their valour was celebrated in pride . Today , the times have changed and except for the very minor changes in laws and society , there is not really a considerable change in the mentality of the people or in the way women are viewed .

For the longest time , women were considered inferior to men . People were always fascinated by the idea of a woman- a goddess . But the reality was not quite the same . They were just meant to be good wives and good mothers . Their dreams were curbed within the four walls of the house and their supposed ‘ aim in life ’ was to be an excellent homemaker . Of course , times have changed since then . The demands for women ’ s suffrage were met after long struggles and they now have the freedom to work and pursue their dreams and passion .

Women ’ s Rights The Path to a Better World

Women finally have a voice but there always remains the question , ‘ Why did they not have one in the first place ?’ That is of course an issue that runs deeper in the mentality of the world .
When we speak of these great changes that have empowered women through the years , it is important to consider all aspects such as the effectiveness of these measures and how these changes were extremely gradual . Even with feminists raising their voices , how much protection do women get ? Is this guaranteed for all women ? These are some difficult questions that most people turn a blind eye towards . And even then , the changes and reforms are extremely limited considering the time frame .
To battle these issues and ensure proper equality and protection , there needs to be a change in mentality along

with the implementation and execution of stricter laws in favour of women . The atrocities against women need to be stopped . When others refuse to take the necessary measures , us women , take the initiative for our own safety and prosperity . And these women who dare to fight for their own rights are considered shameless and wild rather than strong and passionate . Instead of considering feminism to be a poison and for rolling eyes at anyone who claims to be a feminist without knowing the very meaning of the word , society must embrace femininity and accept it . Girls too have dreams and hopes that need proper encouragement . Their dreams do not deserve to be suppressed because their safety cannot be guaranteed . It is not fair that women are made to sacrifice their freedom to prevent these crimes from happening .
Our society has a long way to go but even making minor changes in the way we view women can go a long way . Encouraging the fighters rather than criticizing them would help the empowerment process in the long run and maybe then we can hope for a time of complete freedom and equality for all .
