Malta. It really is an excellent and enjoyable winter break in a superb hotel at very reasonable prices. The Minicon gets to the core of what the CCGB is all about really... a social club for cartoonists. I am pleased to report that bookings for the 2015 version of our top-notch fun-filled cartoonists’ caper in foreign climes are going really well! It’s looking like the 2015 Minicon is going to be our biggest ever, with several first time miniconners (including some new members) swelling the ranks of the hardened veterans of our Malta campaign. It’s going to be another family friendly Minicon by the looks of things, with numerous offspring being brought along. It’s always great to have the kids with us, they do seem to get a lot out of it and really enjoy the cartooning events. They often wind up beating us pros in the competitions too. That’ll have to stop...we’ll have to up our game this time around! To book your place just email me, Rich Skipworth, on [email protected] and I’ll handle the rest. The hotel we’re staying at, the Pergola, will be undergoing refurbishment and redecoration up until the time we arrive, but if you would like to arrive earlier than the 14th, that’s not a problem as you can be temporarily accommodated in the Pergola’s sister hotel the Solana then relocated to the Pergola on the 14th. The Solana is only about 100 yards away, and has the same high standards as the Pergola. If you’d like to extend your stay beyond the 21st, that should be no problem either, just let me know. Flights can sometimes work out cheaper by extending your stay. There are still places left though, so please don’t get the idea that we’re full! The programme of Minicon events is being worked on and I will email everyone with details of that in good time. There will be cartooning, there will be excellent meals out, there will be a cartoon-based visit to Malta’s largest vineyard, and more. It’ll be good, just like in previous years. We’d love to see any of our members in Actually it’ll probably be better! 18 www.thecartoonistsclub.com
