BEYOND the Ivy
A YEAR OF CONNECTION & COMMUNITY
As I reflect on the past year, what stands out most is the many different ways alumnae chose to show up for one another. We gathered— at holiday socials, pickleball Sundays, book club mornings, and Fleur de Villes at the VanDusen Botanical Garden. We contributed— through Jamming Sessions for the Bazaar, ACE career networking and entrepreneurship programming, mentorship, and School partnership events. And we welcomed— making space for alumnae at every stage of life to find their place in this community. Not every alumnae experience looks the same; increasingly, that is one of the greatest strengths of what we are building together.
This year, the Alumnae Association Executive undertook an important piece of work: developing a new strategic direction to guide the Association from 2026 to 2030. The result is Beyond the Ivy— a plan built on our values of Connection, Honour, and Service, and shaped by conversations with alumnae, Board members, and School leadership. At its heart, this plan is about lifelong connection— ensuring alumnae continue to see this community as a place they can always return to, contribute to, and belong within.
As we look ahead to 2026 – 2027, we are excited to build on this energy and momentum. We will continue to evolve long-standing traditions to serve the needs of our alumnae community, while creating new opportunities for alumnae connection and engagement across different interests, generations, and life stages. There are many ways to get involved: joining an event, volunteering, mentoring a recent graduate, or simply bringing a friend along next time.
However you choose to engage, this community is better for having you in it. Thank you for your time, your ideas, your energy, and your continued connection to Crofton House.
Warmly,
Kelly Eng’ 90 President, CHS Alumnae Association
