ATHLETICS Highlights
Athletics at Crofton House School combine teamwork, fun, growth, and competitive spirit— fostering confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of community among students. From the Junior School through to the Senior School, students participate in a variety of sports, including basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, and rowing.
WHOLE SCHOOL RECAP
The staff versus student competitions continued this year! The traditional soccer, field hockey, and basketball games in the Senior School expanded to include a cross-country campus race, tennis, track-and-field challenge, rowing, and golf! In the Junior School, students and staff competed in a rounders match, alongside basketball and volleyball.
In the Senior School, National Girls and Women in Sports Day was celebrated with the School’ s ever-popular jersey day, and the Grade 10 Leadership cohort hosted events throughout the week, championing the importance of representation in all areas of sport. The week culminated with a fun circuit in the Senior School Athletics Centre!
This enthusiasm for participation and connection extended into seasons of strong performances across our competitive teams.
In the Senior School, the Crofton Falcons varsity volleyball team captured gold at the Western Independent School Volleyball Championships for the third consecutive year. Across the year, Crofton House also earned Zone championship titles in both varsity basketball and senior tennis. Teams qualified for provincials in eight of nine eligible sports— volleyball, cross-country, field hockey, basketball, golf, tennis, badminton, and track and field— highlighted by a provincial championship victory in tennis!
