JEAN ( MACMILLAN ) SOUTHAM ’ 33 woman to be appointed President of the Business Press Editors Association of Canada , the Director of the Canadian Business Press Association , and the Executive Director of Communications at the School of Business Administration at the University of Western Ontario . Doreen was entirely committed to the advancement of women in Canada and was a mentor for many . Doreen passed away on November 11 , 2017 .

Jean was awarded the Order of Canada in 1993 for her selfless dedication to education , artistic , social , health and environmental organizations in Vancouver , and was an inspiration for the achievements of civic-minded citizens . Jean was a supporter of numerous organizations in British Columbia . She held directorships at MacMillan Bloedel , Vancouver Aquarium , York House School , Brentwood College , World Wildlife Fund , Holt Renfrew , and Pearson College of the Pacific . Jean was also a founding Canadian supporter of the Duke of Edinburgh ’ s Award World Fellowship . Jean passed away on October 23 , 2007 .

ANN MORTIFEE ’ 65
Ann was inducted into the Order of Canada in 1991 for her contributions as a composer , songwriter , poet and songstress . Ann has composed children ’ s musicals , scores for ballets and scripts for stage and television , and has worked in musical therapy and healing through music . Ann has also co-founded foundations for social innovation and forestry conservation . In 2012 , Ann received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal , which honours significant contributions and achievements by Canadians . Her work has covered important causes from environmental conservation and protection to the peace movement and has inspired many .
Kit was inducted into the Order of Canada in 2018 . Kit brought wonder , delight and solace to children through her writing , reaching generations of children through her powerful prose . Kit ’ s work has helped to educate on points of Canadian history for youth . Kit is a recipient of the Vicky Metcalf Award for her body of work and the Lieutenant Governor ’ s Award for Literary Excellence . Kit also recently hosted a reunion for the Crofton House Class of 1965 at the Victoria home of Kit and Katherine Farris ’ 69 .
