WRITER-IN-RESIDENCE : JULIE BERRY
By Yale Z and Keria W ( Grade 5 )
In this article , we are going to talk about Julie Berry and how she became a writer , as well as how she writes and makes up her stories .
Julie Berry presented to every grade in the Junior School . She talked about how she loved to read and write , and she talked about the process of making a book . Julie said that anyone can make a book . You just need a bigger imagination , like when she was wanting to be an author , she went to a club on how to make a book . Then they just told her to go and make a short story , but they didn ’ t teach her anything . So she tried to come up with ideas , but she could only think of one idea , which was a robot duck . She was thinking she wasn ’ t going to write about a robot duck , but then she tried it and it came out amazing . Julie Berry made a story with us about aliens invading Crofton House School and then the aliens abducted all the teachers so the students ruled the School . It was such an amazing idea and she thought of it right on the spot , so now everyone in the School knows how to make a good book .
