A MESSAGE FROM THE CHS PARENTS ’ AUXILIARY
I often wonder how our School ’ s parents have changed over Crofton House ’ s 125-year history , from the average age of parents to the myriad of family constructs and the ethnicities they represent . What was parenting like a century ago ? Have our expectations of our children intensified along with the pressures of our modern lives ?
While this reflection may reveal more differences than similarities , there is a common vision that has drawn us together as Crofton House parents throughout the School ’ s history and gives shape to our hopes and dreams for each of our daughters . It is that an all-girls ’ education offers something unique and fundamentally positive for our daughters development and personal growth , and that we care deeply about this foundational education in making a difference in their futures and in the world in which our daughters play a part .
While the CHS Parents ’ Auxiliary ( PA ) does not have as long a history , our goals and mission have remained true to their original intent of building community . I also believe that Crofton House parents , across the School ’ s history , have continued to be active parent volunteers who are passionate about the School . Parents continue to offer their time and talent to a variety of programs and events on campus .
This year is no exception . We are delighted to bring to life our PA events that welcome both existing and new families to our wonderful Crofton House community . You can look forward to annual events such as our Welcome Back BBQ and the Whole Girl , Whole World speaker series . Our traditional Winter Bazaar had its beginnings as far back as
May 1943 , with the goal of raising funds for the Red Cross . This year , you can look forward to many booths and areas set up across the entire campus to bring a festive and fun atmosphere for all families to enjoy while raising funds for our partner charity , KidSafe . It is these countless volunteer hours from parents that inspire our community and bond us together .
