WORDS OF WISDOM
My advice for my Grade 1 self would be : play with lots of different people . Do the chores at home . Bike more . Walk and bus to school more . Learn the multiplication tables .
For current and future CHS students : don ’ t be afraid to look silly . Judge less . Focus on yourself . Respect your parents ; they are not your punching bags . Things are only awkward if you make them awkward . Talk to your teachers . Remember your privilege .
LESSONS LEARNED
“ Next year we ’ ll face new places , new people and new challenges , and , most importantly , new versions of ourselves . But we will always share the same memories . We will always be able to come together again and find each other like magnets or whales in the deep sea .”
You choose your own happiness , and you can choose how you react to things . Listen to the advice you give other people . Choose yourself more . If you can ’ t control it , don ’ t worry about it . If you ’ re scared of going up to someone , they ’ re probably thinking the same thing , hoping somebody will come up to them .
CLOSING CHAPTERS
I ’ m going to miss the environment at CHS . where I feel I can be myself , where I don ’ t feel like I experience the negative pressures of societal expectations .
