COFFEE & CONVERSATIONS
As restrictions eased , parents were invited back to campus for CHS Parents ’ Auxiliary ( PA ) events , including the first edition of a new event : Coffee and Conversations . For many parents , this was the first time they had attended an in-person event on campus !
“ When we learned the restrictions were lifting , we wanted to jump back into in-person gatherings right away to give everyone a chance to come back on campus , reunite with old friends and meet new ones in a casual , open atmosphere that wasn ’ t overwhelming or overly structured ,” said outgoing PA Chair Kris Dattani .
Three events were hosted for both the Junior and Senior Schools , giving parents the chance to connect with other parents as well as the Head of School and senior leadership in their daughter ’ s school . “ The response was fantastic !” said Kris . “ Over 200 parents and guardians attended the events . Those who attended were genuinely grateful to be together again on campus .”
“ We were so excited to be in-person at last — these gatherings had an energy that was palpable ,” said incoming PA Chair Christina Louey . “ Everyone was so delighted to be back together again , to connect with one another and to celebrate our shared journey in this fabulous community .”
“ It was an exciting shift in routine to attend the PA Coffee and Conversations event on campus . All of the hosts were incredibly welcoming and inspiring . As our daughter , Alianna , joined Junior Kindergarten during the height of the pandemic , most of our interactions within the community were limited to Zoom events . While those sessions were very informative and much appreciated , the in-person events with the PA , CHS leadership and fellow parents brought a refreshing wave of optimism and renewed enthusiasm about CHS experiences to come in the near future ,” said CHS parent Saba .
We would like to recognize the incredible work of outgoing PA Chair Kris Dattani . Kris passionately and considerately led the PA through the pandemic , reimagined Crofton House ’ s celebrated events to meet safety requirements and creatively engaged our community with unique connection opportunities . Thank you , Kris , for all of your hard work and dedication to CHS !
Thank you to all of the PA volunteers for making these events happen .
