RESILIENCE
Perla Anahí Jiménez Bahena, a
person with resilience
By Cindy Jiménez
My sister’s name is Perla
Anahí Jiménez Bahena. She is
25 years old and she has
experienced a life crisis, that is
not that big compared to other
people’s life crisis, but for her it
was. Before the life crisis that
she had to pass, she was really
confident about herself. Nothing
stopped her. Before this life
changing experience happened,
with hard work, she obtain what
she wanted. That was before
here life crisis.
When she was 24 years old,
she applied for her masters
degrees and when she was
selected for the pre-final
selection, everything went
wrong and she wasn’t accepted
at the end. This was her life
crisis since she did not took that
a positive thing at first, but with
time she used that negative as a
positive.
After her life crisis
happened, she took some time
to figure out what she was going
to do with her life. Is she was
going to let this event get the
best out of her or is she was
going to use what she had
learned and apply next year.
She did, and so, the next year,
she applied, and got accepted to
not any school, but Yale
University.
