The human body is a perfect “machine” as every part of it is used in different activities like daily
tasks. Whenever we have an injury it automatically defends us against diseases and different
harmful organisms. But we need to help it too. In order for our body to perform at its best it is
essential that we contribute with it as well by eating healthy food and also by exercising it.
Exercising our body is very important because with it we are constantly using muscles that
sometimes we don’t use. Exercise can also help us be in good shape as we can take out fats and
burn down calories. Here are some of the benefits that exercise can give you:
Increase in exercise tolerance
Reduction in body weight
Reduction in blood pressure
Reduction in bad (LDL and total) cholesterol
Increase in good (HDL) cholesterol
Increase in insulin sensitivity
Improvements in muscular function
Strength and improvement in the body’s ability to take in and use oxygen.

and form.
There are different types of fitness that are good for our body, but there is one called cardiovascular
exercise that is great. “Cardiovascular exercise, also called cardiorespiratory exercise, involves
movement that gets your heart rate up to improve oxygen consumption by the body. An essential
part of every exercise program, cardio not only helps you lose or maintain weight, it helps you build
endurance so you can remain active for a longer period of time.” Cardiovascular exercise, as the
quote mentions, is good if you want to run marathons or you want to perform activities that require
a great effort. Cardiovascular exercise has different branches as there are some very specific
exercises or very common ones. Some of the most common ways of this type are swimming,
running, riding a bike, dancing, etc. Basically this types of practices are called “aerobic exercises”.
Making this type of exercise is a great way to stay
healthy. It is recommended to perform 30 minutes of
cardiovascular exercise daily.
