According to Forbes, only 8% of people actually achieve them and I'm not in that category either. So the billion dollar question is, WHY bother with resolutions if you ain't going to fulfil them anyway? Resolutions can help us navigate our path through the many uncertainties of life.New year resolutions are promises which we make knowing if committed to, would improve life for us in the coming year. Some resolve to break up bad habits while others resolve to develop good ones. Resolutions can be goals you want to accomplish within a short-term or a long-term period[goals should be time bound], they should be achievable for one to be motivated to follow through with them.Resolutions can be for several areas of one's life ranging from health to finances, marital to academics, etc. We all have dreams we wish would come true, but sadly most people chase those desires from their comfort zones. In the coming year, if we can make significant improvements to our lives we have to be willing to sacrifice the present comforts, the security that our past achievements offer and be willing to risk all for the next level we seek to attain remembering all the while that life is a risk and not to risk at all is risk in itself. A walk through the streets of life will reveal the many opportunities available to us waiting to be harnessed and the unlimited potential within each of us.Let not the past failures dampen your spirit in your quest for a better you and a better life, rise beyond your limitations, let God guide you through. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all of your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your path.Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.Remember, with God all things are possible, no dream is too big for you to accomplish, let go of your imagination, dream big.Scripture references: Songs of Solomon 3:1-4 Isaiah 52:1-2 Proverbs 3:5-8 Pg.16: Inspirer Magazine
