Boomerang Festival forms part of the Bluesfest held over the Easter long weekend at Byron Bay NSW from Thursday 13th to Monday 17th April 2017.
Boomerang features the very best our original culture has to offer in the arts, talks and ideas, as well as emerging musicians, and dancers, workshops and much more. Hosted by the oldest living culture it’s a time to get up close and personal, there is nothing that quite matches the exchanges Boomerang Festival audiences experience.
Boomerang Festival was founded by a member of the Bundjalung nation, Widjabul
and Gidabul clans of Northern NSW and South East QLD, Rhoda Roberts. Rhoda was the Founder and Artistic Director of the annual International Festival The Dreaming based at Woodford QLD and has an extensive and impressive career in the Arts Industry.
The 2017 program features Leonard Sumner, Oka, Yirrmal, Airleke and Rize of the Morning Star, Emily Wurramara, Tenzin Choegyal, Te Kopere Maori Healers, Excelsior Dancers, Jannawi Dancers, and Bundjulung Artists and Weavers. This is a festival you don't want to miss!
