Mystery of Genesis Prime

I
t’s here! It’s here, it’s finally here! Mystery of the Genesis Prime
has finally dropped, and the masses of Nexus are rejoicing!
Not only has Carbine given us two more zones of adventure,
lore and quests, this is the promised ultra drop of convenience
changes and upgrades to make your entire experience through
Nexus more fun and streamlined.
temporary 24-hour mount
licenses in the lower level areas,
and the capital transport cooldown has been reduced from 24
hours to thirty minutes. These and a plethora more convenience
changes have been implemented to make players feel more at
home in Nexus, and simply make the frontier life easier to chew.
When WildStar launched, Carbine made a lot of promises and set
a lot of expectations. I don’t think anyone expected them to live
up to every goal they had set, however, the Sabotage ultra drop
was most definitely their largest mistake to date. While it kept
the spirit of listening to and responding to their community, the
changes made were too extreme and completely ruined what had
quickly become the WildStar experience that the community had
come to love.
The Defile continues the storyline that the Strain ultra drop furthered, teaching players so much more about what’s eating away
at their new home planet. As well, you’ll have the opportunity to
join your enemies in The Siege of the Lightspire, a 20-man open
world event where the Exile’s and Dominion have to work together
towards a common cause. When you’ve finished all that, make
sure to check out the fully-voiced, story focused solo instance,
OMNICore-1, and quench your lore-thirst as you learn more about
the saga of Nexus.
There have been a few minuscule changes to classes as well, though
they are a far cry from the overreaction that was the Sabotage drop.
Carbine has changed how Assault power and Support power function between classes, and have normalized them across tank and
dps classes. Originally a warrior would deal less damage because
he could take more, whereas the opposite was said of an Esper
or Spellslinger. This was one of WildStar’s more unique qualities,
and while this trait will be missed, here’s hoping it’s being taken
out for a good reason.
Mystery of the Genesis Prime is a return to form for Carbine, showing they can still listen and react to their community, while making
tempered and non-reactive decisions about the direction and future
of the game. People wanted more content, so they provided two
full zones of it for everyone to enjoy, adding new world bosses
and oodles of lore to get your hands on. You can also expect to
find more gold and plat as you’re leveling alts or new characters
through Nexus, plus the option to skip the tutorial zone once you’ve
completed it on at least one character. You can also now purchase

For once it’s a pleasure to say, enjoy your month on Nexus, because
this month Carbine deserves it!
