MONET SKY BAND "Monet Sky"

GENRE: POP/BLUES FRENCH/SPANISH

Monet Sky is about love between two people who are Always in the honeymoon phase of

their relationship. It's about what you feel like when deeply in love and you feel like you're

walking on air.

Written by famous Austin musicians Kim Hayley and David Womack, it chronicles how love

can transcend all reality. Within the song, the two lovebirds see a Monet painting, and relate

to how they felt such joy at the county fair when they ate cotton candy as a kid. Monet Sky is

a lyrical work of art. It articulates how a deep love can make you feel like your floating.

The hook "We were pullin' cotton candy from the sky, just you Monet and I," is written to

remind people that ever so often, we'll all experience a joy that makes our heart feel like we

are as light as a feather and can feel love deep in our hearts like never before.

Ron Baker was born in San Antonio, Texas and at the age of 9 he took up guitar. At the age of 14, Ron played on a Dr. Pepper commercial featuring Donna Loren, best known for her roles in the Beach Party movies of the 60’s and as the “celebrity spokesmodel” for Dr. Pepper.

Ron was working with now popular blues artist Delbert McClinton when, in 1975, Ron was given the opportunity to audition for country music singer Charley Pride. He beat out several other players for the job of lead guitarist. Ron’s first performance with Pride was the 1975 Bob Hope 4th of July TV special.

His first actual concert was in the Waikiki Music Shell in Honolulu, Hawaii. From there the group flew to Australia for a 6 week tour including New Zealand and Tasmania. As a member of the Pride organization for over 11 years, Ron has traveled the world doing what he loves to do, and has appeared on many TV shows including The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, the Merv Griffin Show, Good Morning America, Saturday Night Live, Dinah Shore, and many others.
