Arina Mai

Featured Artist - 04 | September | 2020

Arina Mai was born & raised in a small city near Copenhagen, Denmark.  She started singing at the age of 8 & wrote her first song at the age of 13. Her preferred

instrument is the piano. Her passion for music escalated when she won her first

talent show in 2005.

She nurtured her vocal skills by singing in church choirs. By the age of 15, she

leaped into recording her original works in high profile studios. Her first CD

was completed in 2010. Unfortunately, there were several traumatic episodes

in Arina Mai's life that prevented her from further persuing a career in the

music business at that time.

In 2017, Arina Mai was signed to an independent Danish label. Here, she

released several songs featuring other artists. One of the songs received a

solid chart placement. When her contract ended, Arina Mai remained focused

on her solo projects.  In 2018, she contacted various Danish producers with

hopes of a great collaboration. She worked on finding her sound.

In 2019, she met the highly credited producer KP Larsen.  It was a match made

in heaven. A fit that worked effortlessly. Together, they produced Arina Mai's

first Album ''IMPERFECT".

Several singles will be released over 2020 & 2021 with the assistance of

Danie Cortese Entertainment. Stay tuned for more developments.

Revue's

Mai’s voice could easily slip into R&B, new age and pop genres. She understands people. She’s a natural. Her music, in English, can translate into any language. Her truth is a universal truth. “Get Closer” inches its way between straddling the line of pop and adult contemporary. Her voice has hints of Jewell, with a sparkle of smoky timbre

and angelic harmony. Even though she stays pretty close to her range, she does

branch out a bit. She takes little steps, I think, in making the song have

different pitch markers. I sensed a slight folk tone in her voice, too, that

gave me a little bit of a Joni Mitchell vibe.
